Click on Window > About on the Main Menu.

How do I access the elevated temperature feature?
The elevated temperature feature can be selected in the Options area by clicking the Tools > Options. Note: this option does not apply to ACSS.

What are stress-strain charts?
Basically, stress-stain charts contain the mathematical model of the conductor elongation (strain) response to tension (strain). The charts contain polynomial models of the initial and creep stress strain, final modulus, thermal elongation, and test temperature data needed for the sag tension calculations.

How do I determine what stress-strain charts are furnished with SAG10?
If you have version 3.0 or 2.0, click on Main Menu > Conductor Selection > New S-S chart > and then use the scroll down arrow to list all the charts located in your sag10.pgm file. For earlier versions of the software, reference the appendices in the user's manual provided to you upon your original purchase.

We have a conductor that is not listed in SAG10. How can we obtain the necessary stress-strain chart?
Contact your conductor supplier for information on conductors not listed in SAG10.

We are using a new conductor and have been provided stress-strain data. How do we get the necessary chart?
From the Main Menu screen, select the Tools menu on the toolbar, Chart Explorer to open the Stress-Strain chart explorer. From this screen, select Add to add a new chart. Fill in your information and save the chart to the database.

How does one get help when an error message is displayed?
The SAG10 User's Manual defines errors, which may help in correcting the problem. If not, save your problem file with a .s10 extension and email it to Technical Support and advise us of your SAG10 version. We will view and advise you on the problem.

Why does SAG10 automatically add a row with 60ºF and Code 2 to a Loadings Table?
This is the creep check. Creep is the non-elastic, non-recoverable stretch of tensioned aluminum over time, which affects final sags. It is needed to calculate accurate long-term final sags.

I cannot find the option to run a vibration calculation, where is this at?
Southwire did not acquire the Vibrec vibration modeling software with SAG10. ACA kept the rights to this software. It is available for download from ACA at www.Vibrec.com

What version of SAG10 are currently supported?
Versions 3.0 or higher.

Will the project files saved in prior versions of ACA load?
Southwire has attempted to maintain compatibility with prior saved project files, but prior versions of SAG10 did not always save the project information in the same format. You may be requested to re-enter data that SAG10 does not recognize, or you may have to re-build your project in Southwire SAG10 to have the data store correctly.

Can I transfer custom conductors built in the ACA software to the new SAG10?
No, any custom conductors will have to be re-built in Southwire SAG10 v3.10. A new custom conductor editor has been added to make this process easier. Please see the Users Manual for details on how to create, edit, and delete custom conductor constructions.
